Festivals in Singapore 2016

The New Year is just around the corner so here is the time to plan our visit to the Lion City! I dare to say, the beginning of the year (January-February) is the busiest in Singapore given by the Gregorian and Lunar New Year, as well as the Tamil harvest festival called Pongal and the must-see Thaipusam
Hope the Year of the Monkey will bring lots of fun and happy memories to all of us, but for those who visit Singapore in 2016, the entertainment guaranteed!
River Hong Bao is one of the grandest events not to be missed during the Chinese New Year celebrations, at the Float at Marina Bay followed by Asia's largest street parade the Chingay

Let's see the time and dates:

15 January 2016: Pongal

24 January 2016: Thaipusam:

8-9 February 2016: Chinese New Year:

Chinese New Year is the biggest festival of the year which can be experienced through the typical tourist's eyes or a local's eyes. If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle, plan to spend a spiritual Chinese New Year Eve at the Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery
(It is among the rare occasions when you can visit a Monastery at night)
